Fiber Art
The method of Fibre Art involves combining Chinese silk and unprocessed goat, sheep, or camel wool. The silk is painted in a cold batik technique. The wool is made workable through a long and careful process of washing and sun drying. The wool is then brushed and dyed. Finally, the wool is brushed once more and is ready to be sewn together with the silk on a canvas or linen base. Artist sews all the fibre pieces by herself. Decorative cording, beads, and spangles are affixed to finish the work.
